On Friday 26th May we had our Italian Theme Day. The hall was decked out in the colours of the Italian flag, red, green and white and the children came to school wearing these colours too. Each class had activities with an Italian theme from art using pasta, to recreating Italian landmarks and making Italian flags. The children also learnt a song in Italian that they sang in assembly.
Lunchtime took on an Italian these too with the tables covered to represent their national flag, to pizza and tomato pasta on the menu. Our school kitchen also made shortbread biscuits with red, green and white icing. The children also learnt to say hello and goodbye in Italian. The children had a great day......... un bel giorno.
On Friday 4th May we celebrated the forth coming Coronation of King Charles III. The children did lots of activities connected to the monarchy, made crowns and sang our National Anthem.
The school hall was hung with bunting and the children had a coronation dinner and special coronation biscuits. Each child also went home with a special commemorative coronation coin.
