Welcome to Year 1! We are so happy to see you all again after the summer holidays! Our first topic of the academic year is Out and About. The children will be learning about their local area and where Popley is in the United Kingdom. We will spend some of our learning time outdoors looking at different geographical features, exploring maps and comparing Basingstoke to London. We will also be looking at the history of Merton Infant School and seeing how our school has changed over time.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday. Please bring in a named PE kit to leave at school. We will send home the PE kits at half-term to be washed.

Please remember to write in the pink reading diaries every time you read at home and tick any keywords that your child can read by sight.

There are logins for Google Classroom, Bug Club, Mathletics, and EdShed in the front of the pink reading diaries.
